Bananas

I apologize for the lack of pics on this one... Initially I wasn't too thrilled with how this polish turned out, but it's growing on me the longer I wear it! If you've ever hunted for the perfect yellow... I'm sure you understand my plight!

Revlon Crystal Glow, Sinful Colors Unicorn

So I don't have pics of either of these polishes on their own, and this is the only pic I took, because I didn't really like how this turned out at first. Yellows are known to be streaky little buggers, and Unicorn by Sinful Colors is no exception. I really wanted to wear yellow polish, so I originally tried Designated Driver by Spoiled. I remember loving that shade when I bought it, but it was doing absolutely nothing for me this time around. So I reached for Unicorn by Sinful Colors.

Unicorn is a chalky pastel yellow color. Very pastel, chalky, and cool-toned. It did absolutely nothing for my nails or skin tone.

Recently I picked up Revlon Crystal Glow, a yellow jelly that's super sheer. It has a warmer vibe to it... somewhere between a banana peel and a really ripe pineapple. It added a lot of warmth to Unicorn, creating the shade above. It also evened out some of the streaks, but obviously not all of them.

Polished Used:

1 Coat Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler
4 Coats SinfulColors Unicorn
1 Coat Revlon Crystal Glow
1 Coat Seche Vite

Unicorn definitely wasn't as streaky as some polishes I've tried, but I can still see noticeable streaks on my nails where I wouldn't with other shades. And that bugs me. I know there are a bunch of other yellows out there, and I just need to find one with a little more oomph. The color might be growing on me, but the search for my perfect yellow is faaaaaaar from over. :)

What's your favorite yellow polish?

SinfulColors Mauve On Seriotype

Whether you call it a seriotype or smooshy... (I prefer seriotype) there is just something about this style of manicure that I can't get enough of.  Polishes Used:  1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Out Ridge Filler 3 Coats SinfulColors Mauve On Essie Leggy Legend Pahlish Autumn People Pure Ice Get in Line 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Hey there! It's been a little while, hasn't it? Sorry about that. Life happens, you know? Oddly enough, I didn't stop painting my nails during my hiatus. I kept taking pictures for a while, and then that just sort of stopped to. Weird how some habits die hard, while others don't change a bit.  Anyhoo... I found pictures of this mani in my files and couldn't believe I didn't share it! This was one of my favorite polishes last spring, and I recreated this exact seriotype/ a few times.  This mani started out with 3 fresh coats of Mauve On. I typically wrap my tips on the 2nd c

Fishbowl Friday 073 // Recreation

Every now and then, I enjoy looking back over past manicures. Creatively, it's just neat to see how far I've come since the days I started. Oddly enough, when I chose this prompt, I knew exactly which manicure I wanted to recreate. Based loosely on Fishbowl Friday 027 , today's seriotype nails are a RECREATION ...  Polishes Used: 1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler 3 Coats China Glaze Violet Vibes Essie Leggy Legend Pahlish Autumn People Pure Ice Get in Line SinfulShine Konstellation 2 Coats SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Looking back, I can honestly say that my seriotype game has come far since I first learned the method. One of the things that took me a while to master was the balance of nail polish finishes. While seriotypes made exclusively with creme polishes look cool, those made with a combination of different finishes really pop. There's more depth involved when you layer a metallic over a jelly neon and

12 MoC: Merry Marsala

Since the announcement of Pantone's Color of the Year 2015, I've been on the hunt for Marsala in polish form. You might think this would be a simple task, but it's actually been quite difficult, and I'm still not 100% there. But this polish is thee best match (and deal) I've found so far. I give you Haze of Love... Polishes Used: 1 Coat Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler 4 Coats Wet N Wild Haze of Love 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite   Marsala is an earthy red with an almost equal blend of red and brown. It's a super versatile shade, and depending on what you pair it with, it can lean towards either color. It's a rich shade, but not overly dark, and a little dusty. In all honesty, Haze of Love is a decent enough match, but it could still stand to be muted down a little bit. It's just the slightest bit too dark, now that I look at the graphics and my nail photos so closely together. But how many people are going to put
