Maybelline Urban Utopia, Maybelline Sandstorm
Natural Light

I was picking a few things up at CVS and these jumped right into my basket. (Plus, I had a coupon.) Sandstorm is the pinky-beige cream. Urban Utopia is the color pretending to be blue in my pictures. In real life, it's a very vivid yellow-leaning teal.

Polishes Used:

1 Coat Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler
3 Coats Maybelline Sandstorm
3 Coats Maybelline Urban Utopia (accent nails)
1 Coat OPI Top Coat
1 Coat Seche Vite

These polishes are part of a lone group that decide exactly how they will be worn before I even purchase them. I knew I had to have Sandstorm, and Urban Utopia is a great accent color. I guess you could call it slightly trendy considering Emerald Green is Pantone Color of the Year, and this isn't too far off from that. It's a pretty shade, and I'm glad I picked it up.

Maybelline Sandstorm is a great warm neutral polish. (That sounds like an oxymoron!) I don't have anything quite this warm or pink-leaning when it comes to beiges or tans in my collection. I thought it might be a dupe for one of the polishes I already have, but thankfully, it wasn't. Yay for that!!!

Have you picked up any of the new Maybelline summer shades?

SinfulColors Mauve On Seriotype

Whether you call it a seriotype or smooshy... (I prefer seriotype) there is just something about this style of manicure that I can't get enough of.  Polishes Used:  1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Out Ridge Filler 3 Coats SinfulColors Mauve On Essie Leggy Legend Pahlish Autumn People Pure Ice Get in Line 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Hey there! It's been a little while, hasn't it? Sorry about that. Life happens, you know? Oddly enough, I didn't stop painting my nails during my hiatus. I kept taking pictures for a while, and then that just sort of stopped to. Weird how some habits die hard, while others don't change a bit.  Anyhoo... I found pictures of this mani in my files and couldn't believe I didn't share it! This was one of my favorite polishes last spring, and I recreated this exact seriotype/ a few times.  This mani started out with 3 fresh coats of Mauve On. I typically wrap my tips on the 2nd c

Fishbowl Friday 073 // Recreation

Every now and then, I enjoy looking back over past manicures. Creatively, it's just neat to see how far I've come since the days I started. Oddly enough, when I chose this prompt, I knew exactly which manicure I wanted to recreate. Based loosely on Fishbowl Friday 027 , today's seriotype nails are a RECREATION ...  Polishes Used: 1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler 3 Coats China Glaze Violet Vibes Essie Leggy Legend Pahlish Autumn People Pure Ice Get in Line SinfulShine Konstellation 2 Coats SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Looking back, I can honestly say that my seriotype game has come far since I first learned the method. One of the things that took me a while to master was the balance of nail polish finishes. While seriotypes made exclusively with creme polishes look cool, those made with a combination of different finishes really pop. There's more depth involved when you layer a metallic over a jelly neon and

12 MoC: Merry Marsala

Since the announcement of Pantone's Color of the Year 2015, I've been on the hunt for Marsala in polish form. You might think this would be a simple task, but it's actually been quite difficult, and I'm still not 100% there. But this polish is thee best match (and deal) I've found so far. I give you Haze of Love... Polishes Used: 1 Coat Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler 4 Coats Wet N Wild Haze of Love 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite   Marsala is an earthy red with an almost equal blend of red and brown. It's a super versatile shade, and depending on what you pair it with, it can lean towards either color. It's a rich shade, but not overly dark, and a little dusty. In all honesty, Haze of Love is a decent enough match, but it could still stand to be muted down a little bit. It's just the slightest bit too dark, now that I look at the graphics and my nail photos so closely together. But how many people are going to put
