Fangirl Friday: 9.27.13

Fall is officially here! The weather hasn't cooled down too much, so that's been nice. A girl could get used to this kind of weather all.year.round!

1. Revlon Parfumerie Nail Polishes

c/o Nouveau Cheap

This week, Gotham Polish and Nouveau Cheap are both challenging my willpower. And this time, it's not just the shades of polish I'm loving... it's also the incredibly beautiful bottles they come in. I'll be needing a set to paint with and another set to display. Seriously. Touche, Revlon. Touche.

2. Yep, this Nicholas K look featuring Zoya polish rocks, but can we talk about the rings in this show? Particularly, this one?!?

I'm pretty sure it's a locket/poison ring, and that milky gray color? Love it!

3. Cadillacquer came out with a Dexter collection, and while I've never watched the show... check out this color!

c/o Fashion Polish

Umm yeah. I NEED this color. Isn't it gorgeous? Fashion Polish swatched the entire collection, and there's a whole bunch of unique colors. And while you're checking those out... Check out her swatches of Celia from Dance Legend's Chameleon Multichrome Collection. You know, actually... just check out Fashion Polish period. I have serious swatch-envy over here. :)...

4. Diamond Candles. They're made from soy, clean-burning AND all-natural. Plus, each candle has a ring inside... It could be worth $10, $100, $1000, or $5000. They've got some super yummy scents to choose from. This would make an awesome gift for the upcoming holidays, or anytime! I've already added a bunch of scents to my wishlist.

5. Nat the Fat Rat is now Hey Natalie Jean. I've mentioned her before. She blogs from NYC, and it's really cool to see her perspective of the city. She's a mom with a huge love for fashion and all things foodie with some culture and art sprinkled in, too. She writes with a very down-to-earth, friendly, girl-next-door vibe.

6. CoverGirl released the look for District 5...

and I can't help it... It really reminds me soooo much of the Misfits from Jem and the Holograms...

SinfulColors Mauve On Seriotype

Whether you call it a seriotype or smooshy... (I prefer seriotype) there is just something about this style of manicure that I can't get enough of.  Polishes Used:  1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Out Ridge Filler 3 Coats SinfulColors Mauve On Essie Leggy Legend Pahlish Autumn People Pure Ice Get in Line 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Hey there! It's been a little while, hasn't it? Sorry about that. Life happens, you know? Oddly enough, I didn't stop painting my nails during my hiatus. I kept taking pictures for a while, and then that just sort of stopped to. Weird how some habits die hard, while others don't change a bit.  Anyhoo... I found pictures of this mani in my files and couldn't believe I didn't share it! This was one of my favorite polishes last spring, and I recreated this exact seriotype/ a few times.  This mani started out with 3 fresh coats of Mauve On. I typically wrap my tips on the 2nd c

Fishbowl Friday 073 // Recreation

Every now and then, I enjoy looking back over past manicures. Creatively, it's just neat to see how far I've come since the days I started. Oddly enough, when I chose this prompt, I knew exactly which manicure I wanted to recreate. Based loosely on Fishbowl Friday 027 , today's seriotype nails are a RECREATION ...  Polishes Used: 1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler 3 Coats China Glaze Violet Vibes Essie Leggy Legend Pahlish Autumn People Pure Ice Get in Line SinfulShine Konstellation 2 Coats SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Looking back, I can honestly say that my seriotype game has come far since I first learned the method. One of the things that took me a while to master was the balance of nail polish finishes. While seriotypes made exclusively with creme polishes look cool, those made with a combination of different finishes really pop. There's more depth involved when you layer a metallic over a jelly neon and

12 MoC: Merry Marsala

Since the announcement of Pantone's Color of the Year 2015, I've been on the hunt for Marsala in polish form. You might think this would be a simple task, but it's actually been quite difficult, and I'm still not 100% there. But this polish is thee best match (and deal) I've found so far. I give you Haze of Love... Polishes Used: 1 Coat Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler 4 Coats Wet N Wild Haze of Love 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite   Marsala is an earthy red with an almost equal blend of red and brown. It's a super versatile shade, and depending on what you pair it with, it can lean towards either color. It's a rich shade, but not overly dark, and a little dusty. In all honesty, Haze of Love is a decent enough match, but it could still stand to be muted down a little bit. It's just the slightest bit too dark, now that I look at the graphics and my nail photos so closely together. But how many people are going to put
