SinfulColors Glitz & Glittered

This display popped up at my local Rite-Aid the other day. I've been looking forward to a lot of Fall and Winter collections, so it was nice to finally see one in person!

Glitz & Glittered is SinfulColors Holiday 2013 Collection. Not sure if it will be the only one, but it's a decent collection. And that's coming from someone who has a TON of glitter polishes. Check out the shades I picked up...

Super sparkly, n'est ce pas? J'adore! This collection honestly has me ready for eggnog, trimming the tree, wrapping presents... all of it!

Charmed is a sparkly micro-glitter that's mostly silver. You can see very subtle flecks of color here and there, but it's mainly silver. I didn't have anything like this in my collection, so I opted to pick it up, but I've read that it is part of their core collection. No need to rush out for this particular one.

Decadent features fine and medium red hex glitters in a clear base. I picked it up because it looked more pink than red in the store. Seeing it swatched and comparing it with another red glitter in my collection, it might be a tinge lighter, but it's definitely red.

Gilded is the first must-buy shade from this collection. Fine gold and red glitter in a clear base... It's Gryffindor for your nails... A pretty and subtle shade, and even though it didn't really show up in my latest layering, I still like it. These finer glitters are often overlooked in favor of more chunky glitters. I'm really glad I picked this one up. I think it would make for a great glitter gradient!

Holiday Rebel is the other must-have, must-buy polish from the Glitz & Glittered Collection. Did you miss out on Party Hearty from China Glaze? I did too. And I've been looking for something similar ever since. This isn't an exact dupe, but I think it satisfies my lemming. Holiday Rebel packs in the red glitter, while Party Hearty definitely favored the green. Still. Holiday manicures just got one step simpler because of this polish! (Merry Christmas to me...)

What do you think of the Glitz & Glittered Collection?

SinfulColors Mauve On Seriotype

Whether you call it a seriotype or smooshy... (I prefer seriotype) there is just something about this style of manicure that I can't get enough of.

Hey there! It's been a little while, hasn't it? Sorry about that. Life happens, you know? Oddly enough, I didn't stop painting my nails during my hiatus. I kept taking pictures for a while, and then that just sort of stopped to. Weird how some habits die hard, while others don't change a bit.
Anyhoo... I found pictures of this mani in my files and couldn't believe I didn't share it! This was one of my favorite polishes last spring, and I recreated this exact seriotype/ a few times.
This mani started out with 3 fresh coats of Mauve On. I typically wrap my tips on the 2nd coat and add a 3rd for balance. Next, I ad…

I'm never one to pass up a pink polish and if the name of this doesn't say it all, the color definitely does! This is quite possibly the most perfect shade of light pink I've come across. And you all know how I love the color pink! <3

In case you missed my review of First Kiss, daniPro polishes were created by Manhattan Podiatrist Dr. Gary Evans. The formula is 5-free and the polishes are recognized by the American Podiatric Medical Association to promote good foot health.

Forever Pink is more of a crelly polish, so I had to use 5 coats to build up to the opacity you see in the pictures. Because of the sheer formula, it was a little patchy until about the 4th coat. But once this polish is opaque, it's a really gorgeous shade of pink and the crelly finish really made it shine. I've been into lighter shades on my toes lately…

Fishbowl Friday 073 // Recreation

Every now and then, I enjoy looking back over past manicures. Creatively, it's just neat to see how far I've come since the days I started. Oddly enough, when I chose this prompt, I knew exactly which manicure I wanted to recreate. Based loosely on Fishbowl Friday 027, today's seriotype nails are a RECREATION...

Looking back, I can honestly say that my seriotype game has come far since I first learned the method. One of the things that took me a while to master was the balance of nail polish finishes. While seriotypes made exclusively with creme polishes look cool, those made with a combination of different finishes really pop. There's more depth involved when you layer a metallic over a jelly neon and then add in some shimmer and glitter.
