Layering: Orly Purple Poodle

As soon as I saw swatches of Purple Poodle, I knew it had to be a part of my collection. I was out shopping last weekend and spotted at Ulta... wait for it... waaaaaiiiiit for it...      on.the.clearance.rack. Yoink!

Polishes Used:

1 Coat Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler
2 Coats Orly Purple Poodle
1 Coat Sephora by OPI Indi-Go with the Flow!
1 Coat Orly Purple Poodle
1 Coat Borghese Clear Coat
1 Coat Seche Vite

It's another Malibu Stacy layering! Just kidding......... Kinda. O.o Anyway... this layering is insanely girly and glittery, and well... it's just soooooo me. :)

Orly Purple Poodle was part of their Surreal Collection for Fall 2013. It's hard for me to fathom that this was on the clearance rack, but there it was... on sale for just $4.99 rather than $8... AND it was on my wishlist. That rarely happens! (Like, never, EVER.)

Purple Poodle is a raspberry pink jelly polish loaded with pink, purple, and blue micro-shimmer. It's a pretty polish on its own, but you know me... the more glitz and sparkle, the better! I thought about using L.A. Girl Eutopia, but decided on SOPI Indi-Go with the Flow instead. I'm glad I did, too. I wanted the glitter to be purplish in the end, and 1 coat of Purple Poodle turned Indi-Go with the Flow into a great mid-toned blurple color. The shimmer of Purple Poodle and glitter from Indi-Go with the Flow mixed together to make an insanely sparkly jelly glitter sandwich. Lurve!

What do you think of Purple Poodle?

SinfulColors Mauve On Seriotype

Whether you call it a seriotype or smooshy... (I prefer seriotype) there is just something about this style of manicure that I can't get enough of.  Polishes Used:  1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Out Ridge Filler 3 Coats SinfulColors Mauve On Essie Leggy Legend Pahlish Autumn People Pure Ice Get in Line 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Hey there! It's been a little while, hasn't it? Sorry about that. Life happens, you know? Oddly enough, I didn't stop painting my nails during my hiatus. I kept taking pictures for a while, and then that just sort of stopped to. Weird how some habits die hard, while others don't change a bit.  Anyhoo... I found pictures of this mani in my files and couldn't believe I didn't share it! This was one of my favorite polishes last spring, and I recreated this exact seriotype/ a few times.  This mani started out with 3 fresh coats of Mauve On. I typically wrap my tips on the 2nd c

Fishbowl Friday 073 // Recreation

Every now and then, I enjoy looking back over past manicures. Creatively, it's just neat to see how far I've come since the days I started. Oddly enough, when I chose this prompt, I knew exactly which manicure I wanted to recreate. Based loosely on Fishbowl Friday 027 , today's seriotype nails are a RECREATION ...  Polishes Used: 1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler 3 Coats China Glaze Violet Vibes Essie Leggy Legend Pahlish Autumn People Pure Ice Get in Line SinfulShine Konstellation 2 Coats SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Looking back, I can honestly say that my seriotype game has come far since I first learned the method. One of the things that took me a while to master was the balance of nail polish finishes. While seriotypes made exclusively with creme polishes look cool, those made with a combination of different finishes really pop. There's more depth involved when you layer a metallic over a jelly neon and

This is quite possibly the most perfect shade of light pink I've come across. And you all know how I love the color pink! <3 In case you missed my review of First Kiss , daniPro polishes were created by Manhattan Podiatrist Dr. Gary Evans. The formula is 5-free and the polishes are recognized by the American Podiatric Medical Association to promote good foot health. Forever Pink is more of a crelly polish, so I had to use 5 coats to build up to the opacity you see in the pictures. Because of the sheer formula, it was a little patchy until about the 4th coat. But once this polish is opaque, it's a really gorgeous shade of pink and the crelly finish really made it shine. I've been into lighter sha
