Gray nails for a gray, rainy day. This wasn't my original plan, but I chipped 2 nails yesterday while dressing my iPhone in its new stylish Otterbox...

SOPI Frankly I Don't Give A-Dam, Purple Otterbox Defender

Originally, I had planned to turn It's All About Me into a jelly glitter sandwich. But the chips just didn't fall that way... It was just polish that chipped off my middle finger, but I actually managed to chip a tiny chunk of nail, polish and all, off of my pointer finger. Both were on my rarely photographed right hand, but still. I had to file all the nails down to match Pointer, so I figured I'd just put on a new shade of polish while I was at it.

Frankly I Don't Give A-dam is another SOPI polish I scored from Big Lots for $1.80. It's a gray creme polish that doesn't lean a little towards the blue side, and it's not a grurple. It's just plain old gray polish, but it's super shiny and kind of springy, even if it is gray. I love gray polish for the same reason I love black polish... it goes with everything. If Spring had a "new black"... gray would so be it.

SinfulColors Mauve On Seriotype

Whether you call it a seriotype or smooshy... (I prefer seriotype) there is just something about this style of manicure that I can't get enough of.

Hey there! It's been a little while, hasn't it? Sorry about that. Life happens, you know? Oddly enough, I didn't stop painting my nails during my hiatus. I kept taking pictures for a while, and then that just sort of stopped to. Weird how some habits die hard, while others don't change a bit.
Anyhoo... I found pictures of this mani in my files and couldn't believe I didn't share it! This was one of my favorite polishes last spring, and I recreated this exact seriotype/ a few times.
This mani started out with 3 fresh coats of Mauve On. I typically wrap my tips on the 2nd coat and add a 3rd for balance. Next, I ad…

I'm never one to pass up a pink polish and if the name of this doesn't say it all, the color definitely does! This is quite possibly the most perfect shade of light pink I've come across. And you all know how I love the color pink! <3

In case you missed my review of First Kiss, daniPro polishes were created by Manhattan Podiatrist Dr. Gary Evans. The formula is 5-free and the polishes are recognized by the American Podiatric Medical Association to promote good foot health.

Forever Pink is more of a crelly polish, so I had to use 5 coats to build up to the opacity you see in the pictures. Because of the sheer formula, it was a little patchy until about the 4th coat. But once this polish is opaque, it's a really gorgeous shade of pink and the crelly finish really made it shine. I've been into lighter shades on my toes lately…

Fishbowl Friday 073 // Recreation

Every now and then, I enjoy looking back over past manicures. Creatively, it's just neat to see how far I've come since the days I started. Oddly enough, when I chose this prompt, I knew exactly which manicure I wanted to recreate. Based loosely on Fishbowl Friday 027, today's seriotype nails are a RECREATION...

Looking back, I can honestly say that my seriotype game has come far since I first learned the method. One of the things that took me a while to master was the balance of nail polish finishes. While seriotypes made exclusively with creme polishes look cool, those made with a combination of different finishes really pop. There's more depth involved when you layer a metallic over a jelly neon and then add in some shimmer and glitter.
