Sally Hansen Pink-Grapefruit Layering

Polishes Used:

1 Coat Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler
4 Coats Spoiled Show Me Some Skin
3 Coats Sally Hansen Pink-Grapefruit
1 Coat Seche Vite

So, I've bypassed brights and pastels for the day and gone neutral. I can't say that I'm the biggest fan of neutral polishes. Don't get me wrong, I think they always look great on other people. It's just... on me...? They feel kind of bland. After painting just one coat of Show Me Some Skin last night... I knew my manicure needed some sparkly assistance.

In the photos above... the bottle of Show Me Some Skin looks like it should match my skintone perfectly. Only, it's got more of a rose-toned vibe going on. So, in an attempt to get it a bit more pink that most people would probably wear it, I layered on 4 coats. Then, I added 1 coat of Pink-Grapefruit and liked it so much, I went back and added another 2 coats of shimmer.

As I replaced the cap on my bottle of Seche Vite, I wasn't too sure about this layering. Like I said, me and neutrals are just not a thing. I like wearing polish that's bold or completely contrasts my outfit... so, this one took a little getting used to. The more I look at it, the more I like it. Weirdly, I also feel an incredible sense of deja vu when I look at it. I don't think I've done a similar layering here, but I'm thinking there's gotta be another blog that did something like this... or maybe a similar all-in-one shade? I can't say... and I'm also not too sure if this layering will make it to Saturday morning! You know me!!! :)

What do you think of Show Me Some Grapefruit?

SinfulColors Mauve On Seriotype

Whether you call it a seriotype or smooshy... (I prefer seriotype) there is just something about this style of manicure that I can't get enough of.  Polishes Used:  1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Out Ridge Filler 3 Coats SinfulColors Mauve On Essie Leggy Legend Pahlish Autumn People Pure Ice Get in Line 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Hey there! It's been a little while, hasn't it? Sorry about that. Life happens, you know? Oddly enough, I didn't stop painting my nails during my hiatus. I kept taking pictures for a while, and then that just sort of stopped to. Weird how some habits die hard, while others don't change a bit.  Anyhoo... I found pictures of this mani in my files and couldn't believe I didn't share it! This was one of my favorite polishes last spring, and I recreated this exact seriotype/ a few times.  This mani started out with 3 fresh coats of Mauve On. I typically wrap my tips on the 2nd c

Fishbowl Friday 073 // Recreation

Every now and then, I enjoy looking back over past manicures. Creatively, it's just neat to see how far I've come since the days I started. Oddly enough, when I chose this prompt, I knew exactly which manicure I wanted to recreate. Based loosely on Fishbowl Friday 027 , today's seriotype nails are a RECREATION ...  Polishes Used: 1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler 3 Coats China Glaze Violet Vibes Essie Leggy Legend Pahlish Autumn People Pure Ice Get in Line SinfulShine Konstellation 2 Coats SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Looking back, I can honestly say that my seriotype game has come far since I first learned the method. One of the things that took me a while to master was the balance of nail polish finishes. While seriotypes made exclusively with creme polishes look cool, those made with a combination of different finishes really pop. There's more depth involved when you layer a metallic over a jelly neon and

This is quite possibly the most perfect shade of light pink I've come across. And you all know how I love the color pink! <3 In case you missed my review of First Kiss , daniPro polishes were created by Manhattan Podiatrist Dr. Gary Evans. The formula is 5-free and the polishes are recognized by the American Podiatric Medical Association to promote good foot health. Forever Pink is more of a crelly polish, so I had to use 5 coats to build up to the opacity you see in the pictures. Because of the sheer formula, it was a little patchy until about the 4th coat. But once this polish is opaque, it's a really gorgeous shade of pink and the crelly finish really made it shine. I've been into lighter sha
