History of the World - China Glaze The Giver Collection

Polishes Used:

1 Coat Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler
3 Coats China Glaze History Of The World
1 Coat Color Club Clear Coat
1 Coat Seche Vite

Earlier this week, I stopped by Sally Beauty on the off chance that they might have this collection in stock... and they did! Better yet... the display still had every.single.bottle! Out of 6 original lemmings from this collection, I only picked up 2 after seeing them in person... Five Rules, a creamy greige polish, and History Of The World.

I haven't been feeling dark polishes at all recently, given the fact that it's still summer, and I'm hanging on to every last drop of humidity while it lasts! BUT... as soon as I purchased History Of The World, it kept calling to me, begging to make it onto my nails waaaaay sooner than later.

History Of The World is a not-too-muted steelish navy blue that's got a little bit of gray and purple added into the mix. If you look at it directly, and in full lighting, you really take in the saturated, pretty blue hue. If you see it from a distance, you might think it's black. Just a quick glance, and it could be mistaken for a charcoal gray. Excuse me while I have a total fangirl moment over here... O.o (okay, I'm done... moving on.)

Application was flawless, pretty standard for China Glaze in my experience. Two coats would've been sufficient, but I want to enjoy this polish for a little while, so I added a third coat AND wrapped my tips for some extra mileage.

Have you picked up any polishes from The Giver collection?

SinfulColors Mauve On Seriotype

Whether you call it a seriotype or smooshy... (I prefer seriotype) there is just something about this style of manicure that I can't get enough of.

Hey there! It's been a little while, hasn't it? Sorry about that. Life happens, you know? Oddly enough, I didn't stop painting my nails during my hiatus. I kept taking pictures for a while, and then that just sort of stopped to. Weird how some habits die hard, while others don't change a bit.
Anyhoo... I found pictures of this mani in my files and couldn't believe I didn't share it! This was one of my favorite polishes last spring, and I recreated this exact seriotype/ a few times.
This mani started out with 3 fresh coats of Mauve On. I typically wrap my tips on the 2nd coat and add a 3rd for balance. Next, I ad…

I'm never one to pass up a pink polish and if the name of this doesn't say it all, the color definitely does! This is quite possibly the most perfect shade of light pink I've come across. And you all know how I love the color pink! <3

In case you missed my review of First Kiss, daniPro polishes were created by Manhattan Podiatrist Dr. Gary Evans. The formula is 5-free and the polishes are recognized by the American Podiatric Medical Association to promote good foot health.

Forever Pink is more of a crelly polish, so I had to use 5 coats to build up to the opacity you see in the pictures. Because of the sheer formula, it was a little patchy until about the 4th coat. But once this polish is opaque, it's a really gorgeous shade of pink and the crelly finish really made it shine. I've been into lighter shades on my toes lately…

Zoya Free4You Promotion

It's Zoya promotion time again! This is one sale that I just have to jump on every year. Usually, it's because I try to do a no-buy around the Holidays and I'm just itching to buy all of the polish. I didn't really set out specifically to do that in 2015, but that's how it ended up. So I was pretty excited to get the email about Zoya's one week only Free4You sale!

The premise of the sale is simple, choose 4 Zoya shades, (excluding pre-packaged sets, Naked Manicure, Zoya Treatments, and the Spring 2016 Whispers Collection) enter 4YOU at checkout, and pay just $15 promotional shipping. That's the equivalent of $3.75/bottle with free shipping. Zoya polishes normally retail for $9-$10/bottle, so this is a pretty sweet promotion!

Now I know you're wondering... what shades did I pick out? I thought you'd never ask! I swear, I didn't set out to only order purple and blue polishes. And I know that exactly none of these were on my Lemmings list! That see…
