31 Day Challenge 2014: *21*

I'm not even gonna try to sugar coat it... I did a little happy dance all over the room when it was time for the water marble to come off of my nails. From here on out, the prompts are a little more obtuse. (such a good thing!!!) In all honesty, I wasn't sure what to do for this one, even as I was soaking in a hot bath last night. So, I decided to scroll through my Instagram feed for inspiration. I settled on plum, wine, or berry for my inspired by A COLOR manicure...

Polishes Used:

1 Coat Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler
3 Coats Wet N Wild So Berry On Trend
3 Coats Rainbow Honey Sugarberries (accent)
1 Coat Sinful Colors Clear Coat
1 Coat Seche Vite

Somehow, I managed to nail all three... plum, berry, and wine with just one color! I know, I know... someone call the overachievers club of America, STAT! :)

After the past couple of manicures were so involved, I needed a little simplicity. The glitter gradient came to me at the last possible moment, when I remembered that I hadn't swatched any polishes from Rainbow Honey's September Mystery Bag. Sugarberries matched up with So Berry On Trend too well to pass up the opportunity for a little more sparkle.

Thankfully, I have more ideas for the prompts coming up than I did for a lot of the past ones combined. Here's to hoping that's a good thing! Either way, next prompt up... nails inspired by A SONG... coming soon to this blog right here!

Fishbowl Friday 073 // Recreation

Every now and then, I enjoy looking back over past manicures. Creatively, it's just neat to see how far I've come since the days I started. Oddly enough, when I chose this prompt, I knew exactly which manicure I wanted to recreate. Based loosely on Fishbowl Friday 027, today's seriotype nails are a RECREATION...

Looking back, I can honestly say that my seriotype game has come far since I first learned the method. One of the things that took me a while to master was the balance of nail polish finishes. While seriotypes made exclusively with creme polishes look cool, those made with a combination of different finishes really pop. There's more depth involved when you layer a metallic over a jelly neon and then add in some shimmer and glitter.

I'm never one to pass up a pink polish and if the name of this doesn't say it all, the color definitely does! This is quite possibly the most perfect shade of light pink I've come across. And you all know how I love the color pink! <3

In case you missed my review of First Kiss, daniPro polishes were created by Manhattan Podiatrist Dr. Gary Evans. The formula is 5-free and the polishes are recognized by the American Podiatric Medical Association to promote good foot health.

Forever Pink is more of a crelly polish, so I had to use 5 coats to build up to the opacity you see in the pictures. Because of the sheer formula, it was a little patchy until about the 4th coat. But once this polish is opaque, it's a really gorgeous shade of pink and the crelly finish really made it shine. I've been into lighter shades on my toes lately…

SinfulColors Mauve On Seriotype

Whether you call it a seriotype or smooshy... (I prefer seriotype) there is just something about this style of manicure that I can't get enough of.

Hey there! It's been a little while, hasn't it? Sorry about that. Life happens, you know? Oddly enough, I didn't stop painting my nails during my hiatus. I kept taking pictures for a while, and then that just sort of stopped to. Weird how some habits die hard, while others don't change a bit.
Anyhoo... I found pictures of this mani in my files and couldn't believe I didn't share it! This was one of my favorite polishes last spring, and I recreated this exact seriotype/ a few times.
This mani started out with 3 fresh coats of Mauve On. I typically wrap my tips on the 2nd coat and add a 3rd for balance. Next, I ad…
