31 Day Challenge 2014: *22*

It's a different day and that means a new prompt for the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge. Yesterday, my nails were inspired by a color. Today's nails are inspired by A SONG...

Polishes Used:

1 Coat Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler
3 Coats Pure Ice Kiss Me Here
2 Coats SOPI Flurry Up
1 Coat Sally Girl In Love
2 Coats SinfulColors Queen of Beauty
1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat
1 Coat Seche Vite

Remember how I said I had all those ideas for a manicure inspired by a song? Once I actually started thinking them through... most of them didn't work. Then, I was going to use my franken Glittered Concrete, but I could nawt get the bottle open, no matter how hard I tried! I had used Kiss Me Here for the base of that franken, and thankfully, I had a spare bottle.

The inspiration for this mani was Heads Will Roll by the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs. If you've never heard it before, check it out... it's an awesome song!

Kiss Me Here is a true gray. It has a slightly jelly finish to it, so it looks super shiny and wet. I probably could've added glitter to all my nails, and given the whole "glitter over everything" lyric, I suppose I should've... but let's be real. I've gotta take this off tonight, and cleaning glitter off 4 nails is soooo much easier than 10!

I'm super excited about my manicure for tomorrow. I know EXACTLY what I plan on doing for my inspired by A MOVIE nails. Until then, I'll just say... may the odds be ever in your favor. ;)

I'm never one to pass up a pink polish and if the name of this doesn't say it all, the color definitely does! This is quite possibly the most perfect shade of light pink I've come across. And you all know how I love the color pink! <3

In case you missed my review of First Kiss, daniPro polishes were created by Manhattan Podiatrist Dr. Gary Evans. The formula is 5-free and the polishes are recognized by the American Podiatric Medical Association to promote good foot health.

Forever Pink is more of a crelly polish, so I had to use 5 coats to build up to the opacity you see in the pictures. Because of the sheer formula, it was a little patchy until about the 4th coat. But once this polish is opaque, it's a really gorgeous shade of pink and the crelly finish really made it shine. I've been into lighter shades on my toes lately…

Fishbowl Friday 073 // Recreation

Every now and then, I enjoy looking back over past manicures. Creatively, it's just neat to see how far I've come since the days I started. Oddly enough, when I chose this prompt, I knew exactly which manicure I wanted to recreate. Based loosely on Fishbowl Friday 027, today's seriotype nails are a RECREATION...

Looking back, I can honestly say that my seriotype game has come far since I first learned the method. One of the things that took me a while to master was the balance of nail polish finishes. While seriotypes made exclusively with creme polishes look cool, those made with a combination of different finishes really pop. There's more depth involved when you layer a metallic over a jelly neon and then add in some shimmer and glitter.

Fishbowl Friday 072 // Hard Candy

We're going to skip that whole part where we talk about how it's been a while, because well, it's been a really long while. I'm still trying to work out how to make room for blogging and juggle everything else, and it's definitely been a challenge. But know that I am working on it, and I do really, really miss it. This place has been my Quantum of Solace for a long time, and I'm not planning on letting it go anytime soon.

That being said... for this week's prompt, I was happily surprised when I pulled HARD CANDY. This is probably one of the most iconic brands of nail polish, and it's certainly gone through it's own number of changes throughout the years. Who didn't want to own a bottle of Sky once they saw it on Alicia Silverstone's nails way back in the 90's?

Last year, Hard Candy celebrated their 20th anniversary by bringing back some of their most iconic shades. The collection was a mix of five original shades and three new ones. I ma…
