31 Day Challenge 2014: *23*

The odds are definitely in my favor today... so much so, that I don't really want to take this manicure off tonight! Saying goodbye to my song nails wasn't hard at all last night. But these? I've been wanting to replicate Effie Trinket's reaping nails for so long! Here they are... nails inspired by A MOVIE!

Polishes Used:

1 Coat Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler
3 Coats SOPI All About Me
Bongo Diva 'Til Dawn
SOPI The Golden Age
SOPI It's Real 18K Gold
1 Coat Confetti Clear Coat
1 Coat Seche Vite

Finally! I've been wanting to paint my nails like Effie's for a long time, but for whatever reason, I just never got a round to it. But with a little help from the 31 Day Challenge? Done.

Just for reference, here are Effie's nails in The Hunger Games...

Effie Trinket's Reaping Nails

These nails are actually really simple. You don't even need to add glitter to achieve the same look, but we all know that I've got serious glitter issues. Sooooo... rather than just pink and gold, we've got pink and gold with gold and silver glitter and 18K gold flakes.

And about those 18K flakes... I popped into TJ Maxx the other day, and scooped up 3 bottles of SOPI It's Real 18K Gold Top Coat for $2.99 a bottle along with a really pretty scarf! I have been searching for this polish for almost a year, and finally found it!!!

I'm not sure if I'm going to take this mani off tonight or not. I wouldn't mind wearing it for another day, but I'm also pretty excited for the next prompt. My idea for that is really time consuming, and I don't know that I'll have enough time/energy tonight. (#firstworldproblems) So... just a warning! The next prompt in the challenge calls for nails inspired by A BOOK...

SinfulColors Mauve On Seriotype

Whether you call it a seriotype or smooshy... (I prefer seriotype) there is just something about this style of manicure that I can't get enough of.

Hey there! It's been a little while, hasn't it? Sorry about that. Life happens, you know? Oddly enough, I didn't stop painting my nails during my hiatus. I kept taking pictures for a while, and then that just sort of stopped to. Weird how some habits die hard, while others don't change a bit.
Anyhoo... I found pictures of this mani in my files and couldn't believe I didn't share it! This was one of my favorite polishes last spring, and I recreated this exact seriotype/ a few times.
This mani started out with 3 fresh coats of Mauve On. I typically wrap my tips on the 2nd coat and add a 3rd for balance. Next, I ad…

daniPro Forever Girl

1 Coat daniPro Clear Top Cover*
1 Coat Seche Vite

I'm never one to pass up a pink polish and if the name of this doesn't say it all, the color definitely does! This is quite possibly the most perfect shade of light pink I've come across. And you all know how I love the color pink! <3

In case you missed my review of First Kiss, daniPro polishes were created by Manhattan Podiatrist Dr. Gary Evans. The formula is 5-free and the polishes are recognized by the American Podiatric Medical Association to promote good foot health.

Forever Pink is more of a crelly polish, so I had to use 5 coats to build up to the opacity you see in the pictures. Because of the sheer formula, it was a little patchy until about the 4th coat. But once this polish is opaque, it's a really gorgeous shade of pink and the crelly finish really made it shine. I've been into lighter shades on my toes lately…

Zoya Free4You Promotion

It's Zoya promotion time again! This is one sale that I just have to jump on every year. Usually, it's because I try to do a no-buy around the Holidays and I'm just itching to buy all of the polish. I didn't really set out specifically to do that in 2015, but that's how it ended up. So I was pretty excited to get the email about Zoya's one week only Free4You sale!

The premise of the sale is simple, choose 4 Zoya shades, (excluding pre-packaged sets, Naked Manicure, Zoya Treatments, and the Spring 2016 Whispers Collection) enter 4YOU at checkout, and pay just $15 promotional shipping. That's the equivalent of $3.75/bottle with free shipping. Zoya polishes normally retail for $9-$10/bottle, so this is a pretty sweet promotion!

Now I know you're wondering... what shades did I pick out? I thought you'd never ask! I swear, I didn't set out to only order purple and blue polishes. And I know that exactly none of these were on my Lemmings list! That see…
