Valentine's Day and the color red have gone together since the inception of the Holiday. When it comes to nail polish, it's really no different! Red is thee classic shade for nails. While it's not a shade that I always reach for, when I do, I want it to be bright, shiny, lookatmerightnow red... and that's exactly what GoGo Girl is!

GoGo Girl is definitely more opaque than Daredevil, but still leaves a very slight VNL. Any polish that's going to be this shiny has to have it, and I do nawt mind. I'm all about the glitter, sparkles, and jellies over here, the more the merrier! Don't be fooled by that little bit of VNL though, SinfulColors GoGo Girl is one incredibly pigmented polish. I could've easily gotten away with just two coats, but that whole tip-wrapping thing really escapes me, like, 93% of the time.

GoGo Girl is part of SinfulColors Flirt With Hearts Collection for Valentine's Day 2015. You can find it on display at Walgreens, Rite-Aid and other mass retailers in February 2015 for $1.99 a bottle! The full collection also contains 24/7, Daredevil, Decadent, Dream On, Love Sprinkles, Pinky Glitter, and Rise & Shine. Follow SinfulColors on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!

Not gonna lie... shades like this have totally turned me off in the past. For whatever reason, polishes with pearlescent or opalescent finishes just set off alarm bells in my brain, and I end up putting them back on the shelf, realquicklike. You know how they say not to judge a book by its cover? I'm living proof that you shouldn't judge a polish by its finish. Not until you've seen it on your nails.

Before painting, I was definitely apprehensive. Once it was on my nails? Daredevil glows, guys. It is a hot pink polish that just GLOWS. Like, super bright, all things right with the world kind of glow, and it's all thanks to that shimmery purple pearlescence.

What was I thinking?!?

Daredevil goes on sheer, but it's got that great SinfulColors formula that I just can't get enough of. Seriously... I just went on a total bender and purchased 22 new bottles. Check my Instagram for evidence. The layers went on nicely and with four coats, I had a nice balance of almost opaque with a little VNL. Daredevil is a gorgeous glowing "pop of neon pink" that I could not stop staring at.

Fishbowl Friday *013*

FRESH... that's the prompt for Fishbowl Friday the 13th. Originally, I had a much different plan for this manicure. Unfortunately, due to some formula issues, it didn't work out as planned. So... I filed that idea for later and thought about the word fresh some more. In addition to clean, it can also mean new. And when I think new, I also tend to think untried. I also think pastel when I think of fresh. So, I paired Sally Hansen Babe Blue, which I've worn but haven't blogged about yet, with my latest satisfied lemming, Fingerpaints Daubigny's Garden...

It's funny how sooooo many manicures of mine start out as a completely different idea. Originally, I was going to paint my nails with a cream nude polish and add a super minimal accent in hot pink. I tried two of my newer nude polishes and ended up quite frustrated with the formulas on both of them.

So, like I said above, FRESH has so many different meanings, and this just happened to be what fell together in the moment. Put a bunch of different polishes on my desk, add in some untried glitters, and honestly, something completely different would emerge, I'm sure of it! That's a big part of what makes nail blogging so much fun!!!

I have to give credit where it's due... I would know nothing about Daubigny's Garden had I not been for searching for the Sally Beauty nail polish ad with stickers. I ended up on the Fingerpaints Facebook page and saw Daubigny's Garden swatched by BruisedUpDollie. As soon as I saw her swatches, I knew this glitter polish HAD to be mine. Check out her photos and you'll see why Daubigny's Garden is going to be a huge deal. It's a completely different polish depending on what you layer it over. I haven't even tried it over a dark color yet, and I'm already envisioning how gorgeous it would look layered over a gradient!

So... if you follow me on Instagram, I posted this week's prompt last night shortly before painting my nails. I'm going to try and pick the next (014) prompt and post it tonight or tomorrow night. And if you don't follow me on Instagram, you totally should. Sure, I definitely post pictures about my nails and recent hauls, but I also try and document yummy food, interesting findings, and the occasional snap of Sparklegirl when I can catch her...

Other people might wear pink on Wednesdays, but I could honestly wear pink all. the. time. It's one of my favorite colors, and I never get tired of wearing it on my nails. SinfulColors 24/7 is aptly named, considering I can see myself reaching for this over and over again in the future!

24/7 is the kind of pink that you can wear anytime, with anything, and it will just work. I know I've bought and worn a gazillion hot pink polishes, but this one definitely stands out from some of the others. It's a bright pink, but it's also warmer than my other blue-leaning pinks. 24/7 is touted as SinfulColors "hottest pink," and they're definitely on to something. There's an almost-but-not-quite neon vibe going on here, and I'm loving it. Even if I end up taking this off tonight, you'll definitely see 24/7 again!

PLL: "Over a Barrel" (5x16)

When we last left our Liars at the end of Fresh Meat, Alison received a note claiming she'd see her friends soon. Prior to that, a bloody knife was found and destroyed, the Brew re-opened with Ezra as owner, Emily missed Paige, Aria wrote a fictional email, Spencer and Toby quarreled, and Hanna played detective.

The episode opened as the girls met to catch up. Spencer spilled about the bloody knife, and Hanna told the others about visiting Holbrook's dad. The girls wondered if Holbrook planted the knife, still under the impression that Holbrook had to be helping Ali act as A from behind bars. Emily told the other Liars that Paige wanted some space.

Hanna and Spencer left, leaving Aria to get a refill on her coffee, and talk about the Talmadge letter. Emily told Aria that Holbrook was a no-show for the re-opening, so he couldn't have planted the bookmark. Em rung up Aria's coffee and a long receipt began to print. It was Aria's Talmadge letter, with a note at the end from A. "This kind of lie will stay on your permanent record."

Back at the Marin homestead, Hanna returned home to find Pastor Ted and her mother making breakfast in the kitchen. When Ted went out onto the patio, Hanna tried to talk to her mom about seeing Jason come downstairs the night before. Ashley refused to talk about it, and joined Ted on the patio.

Downtown at the Brew, Talia tried to give Emily some tips on her foam-making technique. Emily bristled, unable to see that Talia was attempting to be helpful.

Spencer and Toby discussed some of the acceptance letters Spencer received, all from colleges that were far away from Rosewood. Spencer claimed that she had only applied to them to get out of PA. She told Toby that she hates the idea that Alison is still controlling every aspect of her life. Johnny arrived with his rent money for Spencer's parents just as Toby left for work.

Back at the Brew, Aria got a text message that read, "Stop looking for me. I’m tired of hiding. Grille at noon." -H Aria told Emily that she planned to go, even when Em said it was a bad idea. Aria was convinced Holbrook was behind the Talmadge letter threats, and that the text might mean that he was tired of being Alison's lackie. She thought that if she met with him, he might agree to not tell Ezra about the letter.

At Chez Hastings, Spencer and Johnny continued their conversation. Spencer learned that Johnny wasn't sure about going back to school. When he asked to raid their trash, Spencer thought he was looking for food, but Johnny was looking for ingredients to make his own paints. Turning down a sandwich, Johnny asked to borrow an egg, a binding agent. Spencer was retrieving one from the fridge just as she received a text from Mona, complete with GPS coordinates. Shocked, she dropped the egg onto the floor and asked Johnny if they could talk later.

Spencer met Hanna and Caleb over at his new apartment. Caleb told the girls that the text was actually a pre-set alert that Mona had set up to text Aria, Emily, Hanna, and Spencer. Caleb tracked the coordinates to a storage unti rental facility in Montgomery County. The three surmised that Holbrook was still helping Alison. If he was responsible for stealing the laptop, and also preoccupied with meeting Aria at the Grille, they could head to the storage unit, break in and retrieve the laptop. Before they left, Hanna received a call from Pastor Ted to meet and talk.

Outside of the Grille, Aria was waiting for "H" to show up, when Jason DiLaurentis came by. He invited her to have lunch with him, acknowledging the fact that the two of them could talk freely about everything that had happened lately.

Inside the Brew, the turf war continued when Talia suggested uniforms for the Brew employees. She pointed out a hole in Emily's shirt, not realizing that the shirt had belonged to Paige.

Caleb and Spencer found the storage unit facility, and tracked the GPS coordinates down to a specific unit, #1017. Upon looking at the lock, Caleb realized that he didn't have the ability to break into the unit. When a teacher from Rosewood spotted the two, Spencer talked to her to try and find information out about the tenant. Mrs. Horowitz told Spencer that the unit sometimes smells horribly, and one time, she saw a blonde girl come out of it, but didn't see her face. The teacher left and Caleb returned with a new plan. The two would break into the teacher's unit, and use the air ducts to crawl into 1017.

Back downtown at the Applewood Grille, Jason and Aria had lunch together. As they talked about Alison, Jason told Aria that Alison had the ability to manipulate anyone. He also told Aria that the police suspected Alison had help getting rid of Mona's body. Aria told Jason about Ali's lie detector test, and Liars' own theory that Holbrook was helping Alison from the inside. While talking, Aria received another text from H, telling her to meet at Maple and Prescott.

Hanna was walking to meet Pastor Ted, while talking to Caleb. She told him he sounded like he was calling from inside an air duct, and he confirmed his location. Hanna met with Pastor Ted, who ambiguously started the conversation, leading Hanna to first believe that he suspected something was amiss with Ashley. Hanna almost admitted what happened with Ashley and Jason, when Pastor Ted asked for Hanna's permission to marry Ashley. She gave him her blessing, and tried to called Ashley to warn her.

Aria called Emily to update her. Em reiterated what the girls had said before, that if Holbrook was working with Ali and planning on crossing her, he wanted it kept secret. After hanging up, Talia asked if the shirt Em was wearing belonged to Emily's ex. She told Em that it could be hard to let someone go that you once loved, but Emily didn't say anything.

In the storage unit, Caleb and Spencer found Mona's laptop, clothing in evidence bags, a haz-mat suit, antacid tablets, denatured alcohol, and a barrel. The two debated over whether Mona's body could be inside the barrel. Just as they were about to open it and check the contents, the lights went off, spooking the duo into leaving instead.

Outside of the flower shop at Maple and Prescott, a florist handed Aria a bouquet of flowers. She claimed that a man on the phone told her that she would deliver them to 34 Turning Leaf Lane.

In her bedroom at Chez Fields, Em finished sewing up the hole in Paige's shirt and put it in the envelope of things she was sending back to her.

Over at the Marin household, Hanna finally found her mom and tried to talk to her. Ashley claimed that she wasn't comfortable with what had happened with Jason. Not wanting to spoil Ted's surprise, she simply told her mother that she thought Ted and her Mom were great together, and she didn't want the Jason thing to ruin that.

Back at Caleb's apartment, Spencer was freaking out, thinking that she and Caleb somehow left trace DNA in the storage unit. Unsure of what Holbrook could be planning, they searched the surveillance tapes for any sign of him or the blonde Mrs. Horowitz spoke about, but they didn't find anything. Realizing they were also on the footage, they decided to erase all the surveillance footage. In an attempt to tie the unit to Holbrook, Caleb tried to find out who rented unit #1017.

Aria picks up flowers from A PLL
c/o PLL Wiki

Aria arrived to 34 Turning Leaf Lane, aka Hanna's house. The flowers were for Ashley, from Jason, complete with a card that read, "Last night took me by surprise. Glad I stayed for dessert." -Jason. Aria wondered what the card meant, and Hanna didn't want to tell her. Rather than explain the affair, she claimed that it was Alison trying to get back at her for what she said during their visit. She claimed that Alison was responsible for it, and Hanna had only gone to see Ali because she was afraid that Alison was framing Caleb.

Spencer and Toby were in the midst of a game of Scrabble, with Toby saying that they hadn't played in a while and it was a nice change. Caleb sent Spencer a text message that read, "Found something, call me." Toby saw the message and got upset, warning Spence that the two of them should stop digging into things that could get all of them in trouble.

Over at Chez Marin, Pastor Ted proposed, and Ashley was completely surprised. She told him that she needed time to process the idea. After he left, Ashley confessed to Hanna that Ted was an amazing man who deserved to know the truth. The next morning, she took the statement back, claiming that the truth would only cause him undue pain. Ashley told Hanna that the best thing that the three of them could do was keep it quiet and move on.

Emily arrived at the Brew to pick up her paycheck. Talia commented on Ezra's "cute buns" and Emily uncomfortably and reluctantly agreed with her.

Seeing that Spencer was back home, Johnny stopped back for the egg. The two talked about college and traveling when Caleb texted Spencer again. Ignoring the text, Spencer asked Johnny to tell her more about his travels.

Caleb arrived over at Hanna's house to tell her that he had decided to look into the storage unit. He claimed that it had taken longer than he initially thought it would, and that the results were surprising. The unit was rented in Hanna Marin's name, and he told Hanna about the barrel that likely had Mona's body inside of it.

As the episode ended, Black Hoodie reached into a desk drawer with a gloved hand and pulled out a bag of caramels, then signed into a Rosewood PD computer using Detective Holbrook's login.

My Thoughts:

The Talmadge letter is totally going to blow up in Aria's face. The fact that she honestly believes that Holbrook is responsible, when the receipt was signed by A... it's kind of like, where have you been the last four seasons?

I pretty much called the Pastor Ted thing. You could see that coming out of nowhere. Although, I'm wondering, her dedication to keeping a secret is quite amazing. Like, maybe, there's a secret she has that she hasn't told anyone...? (more on this in a little bit...)

Emily is really having a hard time getting over Paige. Which makes sense. What doesn't make sense to me, is how Paige just seems to totally have gotten over her soooo quickly. I mean, I get it, she's not living in the place where all the memories are like Emily, but she claimed that she didn't really want to go, and now she needs all this space? It just feels shady. Red Herring for Mona's murder? Maybe... but still shady.

Johnny's an interesting addition... He seemed surprised that Spencer would date a cop. Wonder why?

So... Aria got that text and automatically assumed it was Holbrook. " Stop looking for me. I’m tired of hiding. Grille at noon." -H

I speculated on Tumblr (PLL Ramblings) that this text was really odd. I mean, how long have they really been looking for Holbrook? Like, actively...? They've been looking for A for so much longer... O.o

Also, I didn't get into it there, but if you're tired of hiding and want to be found, wouldn't you want someone to start looking for you? And honestly, if it's Holbrook, he really can't hide. He can't just disappear off the case without looking totally shady. You know, unless he's been taken off the case, which doesn't seem to have happened...

Mona's alert system really shows just how scared and prepared Mona was before her death. It just seems a little shady, though. Continuity-wise, I love how the show actually picked coordinates in Bensalem, PA. It's in Bucks County, northeast of Philly, an area we've heard mentioned a lot on the show.

But yeah... all this preparedness that Mona had in place? I mean, I get that she probably suspected Alison for a really long time, and she believed that she had found evidence linking Ali to Bethany, Radley, etc. But, for the fact that Mona was once A, the Liars are certainly putting a lot of faith into this system that was prepared pretty far in advance and they're not questioning it at all.

I get why Aria went to meet H in broad daylight. I'm pretty sure that Jason was coincidentally there. Having lunch together, though? Probably not the best idea... but I'll get to that.

Don't you love how the ducts are just sooooo huge in every movie/TV show. I have NEVER seen them that large in real life. Ever. Just sayin'.

Jason and Aria having lunch and just sharing details of the case and everything. I mean, I know that Hanna already outed the knowledge of Holbrook possibly helping to Alison, but Aria just gave it away to Jason! I'm beginning to think that Ali was right in not totally trusting the girls.

Let's go back for a moment... Hanna correctly guessed that Caleb was in a heating duct? More on this later, too... That conversation between her and Ted was totally sweet but also really awkward.

Did they really just leave the laptop in the unit? Because I probably would've just taken it at this point.

The flower thing... H sent Aria to pick up flowers for Ashley, from Jason, to deliver in person. It's honestly such an A thing to do, that it makes me wonder why Aria doesn't question it. Why in the world would Holbrook send her to do something like that, and sign the text as H? If he's really acting on behalf of Alison and has been doing so for a while, wouldn't he just sign it as A?

Hanna intercepted the flowers and the message from Jason. This is the 2nd time she's been forced to keep one of her mother's secrets.

Remember when Toby thought that becoming a cop would help them have an inside person and figure out more? Well, that's honestly backfired. It's creating a lot more problems between Spencer and Toby than the two of them probably ever imagined. Reality, kids!

So, Caleb looked into storage unit and tried to tell Spencer what he found out. She didn't pick up, so he was forced to tell the other person... you know, the person whose name the storage unit happens to be under. Hanna. Oh, yeah, and Mona's body is probably in that barrel. Again, we'll come back to this...

At the end, a gloved hand pulls out caramels from a drawer and places them on a desk. The person keys in Holbrook's password, leading us to believe that A/Black Hoodie/Black Widow is using Holbrook's information to log into Rosewood PD's files, or Holbrook's own computer.

There's certainly a lot happening to Hanna at the moment, and it's making me wonder. Here's the other part of that Rambling...

What if the Hanna we are seeing as of 5x16 isn’t the Hanna we’ve come to know and love, but a twin impersonating her? It would explain so many inconsistencies right now along with the gradual changes in her character. The total 180 on people being able to change, darker personality, different look, getting into all those colleges, etc.

Maybe the text Aria received is a clue that Real Hanna is trying to step out from behind the A moniker because no one has realized what happened to her! Hanna used that as a way to try and get the Liars to realize the truth and act on her suggestion, because she knows they won’t ignore A. I’m thinking that since the time of the switch, some of the A texts are from the Real A (Hanna’s twin) and some are from Real Hanna.

That’s all I’ve got so far… I haven’t really thought through the why, although it seems like an interesting time to have an Ashley infidelity storyline. We think that she didn't answer Pastor Ted because of sleeping with Jason, but what if it’s because of a secret twin? Could that be the reason why Tom left too?

I realize there are a lot of holes, and it seems sort of obvious now, but it would be kind of brilliant, when you think about it. Honestly, a switch wouldn't even have had to be made. A could be Hanna's twin, trying to frame her for murder in order to take away the life she was deprived.

And the overall implications of that in regards to the rest of the series? Really hard to say! With all the new information we're getting, it makes it harder and harder to connect all of the dots. Who knows what new information we'll learn next! I'm hoping that in the next episode, "The Bin of Sin," we'll learn what is actually in that barrel. The obvious choice is Mona's body, but I've heard speculation that it's Holbrook. If it is a body, I don't really need to see it, you know? Maybe just have Toby puke or something! Fingers crossed!!!

PLL: "Fresh Meat" (5x15)

When we last left our Liars, Alison was trying to get comfortable in her prison bunk. Fresh Meat opened in the same correctional facility, as Toby dropped off a file from Tanner.

Alison was handcuffed to a bench, with visible bruises on her arm. She told Toby that the girls needed to come and see her. She asked him if he remembered how it felt being locked up for something you didn't do. Toby said that he did, but did Alison remember who put him there? Ali then claimed that all the other girls would be there with her soon, unless A killed them first.

Alison DiLaurentis PLL Fresh Meat

In the courtyard at school, the Liars had a meeting and discussed the fact that Holbrook was likely helping Ali from the inside. Toby told the girls that Holbrook's "temporary assignment" was taking care of his sick dad. The girls wanted Toby to find out if Holbrook visited Ali in jail, but Spencer shut the idea down. She claimed Toby couldn't get more involved than he already was. Toby received a call on his radio and had to leave.

The Liars walked to their class discussing college. Hanna mentioned her visit to Ballard College that weekend, and told the others about accidentally kissing Holbrook. Aria walked away towards her pottery class with Emily following, trying to talk about Paige. Aria asked to talk about it another time, admitting that she had been rejected from every college she had applied to so far. She told Emily that she wasn't sure if it was her or because of A.

Over at DiLaurentis Realty, Jason asked Ashley to stay on a little longer until he sorted through his mother's holdings.

Meanwhile, Toby and Rosewood PD were sent out to search the Vanderwaal property again. During his search, Toby found a bloody knife but didn't report it. Later, he told Spencer and Caleb about the knife, explaining that it belonged to his family. It had been at the family cabin. When told about it, Caleb recognized the description from his stay at Toby's cabin. Caleb and Toby realized that their prints could very well be all over it. Toby explained that he was unsure if it was planted by A, so he had just left it there. The three agreed that they were not going to touch the knife or tell anyone about it.

The Knife PLL Fresh Meat

Downtown at The Brew, Ezra was in the midst of planning his re-opening when the caterer quit. Emily overheard and offered to cater the event for some extra cash to visit Paige during spring break.

Back at DiLaurentis Realty, Ashley answered the phone when Alison called from prison to talk to Jason. Her brother didn't want to speak to her, and admitted to Ashley that he couldn't look at her the same way anymore. He was also beginning to wonder if she was involved in the death of their mother.

While on her college tour, Hanna received a call from Caleb, telling her about the knife. She asked if he wanted her to come home, but he told her to stay on the tour.

Distraught by all her college rejection letters, Aria complained to Emily about being wait-listed at Talmadge. Aria contemplated writing a more convincing letter to the admissions staff when Ezra told her that Jackie was working in admissions at Talmadge.

Over at Caleb's apartment, Spencer found out that Caleb had told Hanna about the knife. He told Spencer he was going to get the knife Toby found, paranoid that it might have his prints on it. Caleb confided in Spencer that he had been a suspect in a murder case in Allentown, and he didn't have anyone looking out for him like the others. He wanted to get to the knife before A beat them to it. Spencer agreed to go with him.

Aria wrote another letter to Talmadge in an attempt to sway their opinion. In it, she wrote that she regretted spending so much of her high school career on her relationship. She wanted a second chance to find herself and believed she could do that at Talmadge.

Back at the Brew, Emily was struggling to prepare the food for Ezra's opening.

Hanna showed up at a trailer park, and we learned she was searching for Holbrook's father. When she found him, he mistook her for someone else and Hanna played along. He said that he hadn't seen his son in weeks. But if anyone knew where he was, he assumed it would be her. She walked back to her car to find all of the doors open, and her Ballard teddy bear in the front seat. Hanna pulled on a string protruding from the bear's belly button. The bear's stomach split open, spilling guts at Hanna's feet.

Spencer and Caleb found the knife and took it with them.

At Emily's house, Em admitted that the catering gig wasn't going so well. Aria showed Em the letter she had already sent to Talmadge. Emily read it and asked Aria if she realized how hurt Ezra would be if he read it. Realizing her mistake, Aria penned a quick email telling Jackie to disregard the letter.

PLL Fresh Meat, Aria & Emily
c/o PLL Wiki

Downtown at the Brew, Ezra hired a professional to finish the job. He told Em that he would still pay her, but Emily was obviously hurt. Back in the kitchen, Em bristled when Talia tried to get to know her.

Caleb returned to Spencer's house, telling her he couldn't throw the knife in the lake because he felt like someone was watching him. The two decided that they couldn't just hide the knife, they had to destroy it. Spencer and Caleb take it to their Rosewood high with the plan of putting it into the walk-in kiln/furnace the art students use. (They call it a furnace.) While Caleb is putting the knife in the furnace, Spencer was distracted by a noise and left him alone to investigate. Someone shut the door, trapping him inside, and turned on the furnace. After a mini goose chase, Spencer came back downstairs and saved Caleb from the furnace just in time. He told her that the knife was still in there, so she closed the door and cranked up the temperature.

Aria drove to Talmadge in an attempt to find Jackie after not receiving a response from her. When she spotted her on campus, she asked her to get rid of the letter, but Jackie had already seen it and read it. She assured Aria that she wouldn't say anything to Ezra. She knew what it was like to fall for the wrong guy, and she wished she had never met Ezra, too.

After her visit with Holbrook's Dad, Hanna went to see Alison in jail. Hanna told Ali to back off and that she should stop trying to scare her and the other girls. Alison claimed she had given up already. Hanna mentioned the knife in Mona's backyard. Alison told Hanna that she got a call from Cyrus to meet her on Thanksgiving. She claimed that she went to see him because she was afraid he would spill about their deal, but Cyrus never showed. She told Hanna that she was pretty sure it was a setup. Alison asked Hanna why she would allow herself to be arrested if she actually was A. Hanna admitted that she didn't know, but if Alison as A was counting on any part of Hanna caring what happened to her, she really shouldn't.

PLL Fresh Meat Hanna visits Alison
c/o PLL Wiki

At the grand opening of the Brew, Spencer arrived to a testy Emily. Everyone liked Talia's Hors D'oeuvres better than her Empanadas. Spencer was mistaken for Melissa by a boy named Johnny. He claimed that he was renting the barn from her parents, and Spencer told him that he shouldn't be so excited, considering the dead body that was found in the backyard.

In the kitchen, Emily was upset, finally telling Talia about her breakup. In an attempt to cheer up Em and encourage her, Talia plated her empanadas over greens and topped them with sauce. Em tried it and begrudginly admitted that Talia's sauce made them taste better.

Back at Casa de Marin, Jason arrived to ask Ashley about a confusing file he found. To him, it looked like his mother had a tenant whose lease had run out three years prior, but his mother never kicked them out. During their conversation, Ashley invited Jason for dinner to discuss the file. After dinner, Jason kissed Ashley. He apologized for kissing her, but she told him he didn't have to.

Aria arrived to the opening and received a text from Jackie welcoming her to Talmadge. Ezra introduced her to one of his colleagues who might be able to put in a good word for her at Vassar. Aria excitedly agreed, trying her best to hide her guilt.

Toby came to the Brew, angrily looking for Spencer and Caleb. He had gone back to the Vanderwaal property to get the knife and turn it in to the police. Only, the knife wasn't there, so he knew that Caleb and Spencer had to be involved. Spencer tried to explain, but Toby yelled at her to stop telling him what really happened. Clearly upset, Spencer told him that he once said she could tell him anything. Toby explained that his duty as an officer prevents him from being able to hear what she was trying to tell him and angrily stomped away.

After a successful opening celebration, Ezra, Aria, Emily, and Talia were closing down the Brew. Emily suggested that Ezra hire Talia, given how much everyone was raving about her food. Aria told Em that Jackie could've sent Ezra the letter, but she didn't. While on her way out, she noticed a bookmarked college directory. The bookmark was on the Talmadge page, and Aria was horrified to see an excerpt of her letter taped to it.

Hanna arrived home just in time to see Jason walking down the front steps, buttoning his shirt as he went. He left without noticing that Hanna had seen him.

The episode closed with Alison in prison, receiving a clean jumpsuit with a unsigned message inside. It read, "Your friends will see you soon."

My Thoughts:

They're really hitting home the fact that Hanna has been accepted into a zillion colleges while the other Liars haven't. So many people are wondering if Mona didn't have a hand in all of her acceptances. While I like the idea of Mona trying to do something incredibly sweet for Hanna, is it bad for me to want to see that she got in all on her own?

The knife... that was honestly the biggest disaster waiting to happen. You could see that coming from a mile away. I originally liked the idea of Toby as a cop, but it's turning out to be a HUGE mess.

As much as I really like to see Caleb and Spencer having all sorts of investigative scenes together, what are they thinking? Have they really learned nothing in the past 109 episodes? I mean, if they couldn't see what happened in the kiln/furnace coming... O.o

While we're on the subject of that kiln/furnace thing... I don't think they're that big. I'm also pretty sure that if they're in a school, there are many, many more locks and safety protocols involved. Also, security at their school seems really lax.

Do they really think that the kiln/furnace is going to destroy the knife? If they cleaned it really well, it might remove all their prints and stuff, but I'm not sure that it would "cook off" the blood so to speak. But I'm not an expert in trace evidence, so.... o.O

Toby, Toby, Toby... he's seriously conflicted. Also, I'm pretty sure he's the quickest study to be a cop Pennsylvania has ever seen. I was really glad to see that he came around and wanted to do the right thing at the end. And he did have a point when reminding Spencer about telling him certain things and how it's different now that he's a cop.

So... Jason's mom has a tenant whose lease has been up for 3 years? If that doesn't scream A...

Jason and Ashley? I don't mind it. I like her with Jason and with Pastor Ted. I feel like Pastor Ted makes a lot more sense, but yeah.

Hanna going off on her own and investigating was interesting. Holbrook's dad seemed to think that she was someone she wasn't, so was he thinking that she was Alison, or someone else?!? Undeterred by the guts in her teddy bear, Hanna went off to visit Alison in jail. She found out where Ali went on Thanksgiving, and basically told Alison that she doesn't care what happens to her.

We all knew Aria's letter was going to come back to haunt her. This one probably has the potential to break them up for a little bit, or at least cause a little fight when Ezra finds out. And I'm sure he will, because clearly A is on it.

For someone who supposedly didn't want to move to California, Paige sure seems like she's transitioned well. Kind of shady if you ask me.

I'm still doubting that Alison is A, but I definitely think she knows more than she's letting on about a whole lot of things. If they're going down the twin road, I think Ali might know who has the twin.

The only thing I know for certain, is that we'll find out more next time... probably more questions than answers, but more nonetheless! 5x16 is entitled Over a Barrel, and according to the promos, Mona is going to be texting from beyond the grave. Spooooooky!

It's a really fun mid-toned purple shade, which always works great for stamping! It allowed me to go dark or light with my stamping accents, and of course... I had to add in some glitter!

So, I mentioned how I was working on getting organized, right? Well, I'm really going to try to post the prompt for the week further in advance than just when I blog about it. I'm thinking Friday or Saturday night... maybe I'll post it on Instagram? That way if you want to join in on the fun, you totally can... the more the merrier!!! :)

PLL: "Through a Glass, Darkly" (5x14)

Previously on Pretty Little Liars,  Spencer, Aria, Hanna, and Emily shared Christmas with their significant others. For a moment, it looked like the Holidays might be peaceful in Rosewood... but where would the fun have been in that?!? So, we opened up the 14th installment of Season 5 three months later, at Mona Vanderwaal's funeral.

The girls were just leaving the funeral and noticed Alison attempt to pay her respects to Mona. Mama Vanderwaal slapped Alison across the face, accusingly asking her "Where's her body?" The Liars looked on, still resolute in the fact that not only had Ali killed Mona, she was also A.

After the funeral, Hanna talked to Leona, and she gave her one of Mona's stuffed animals, a small dog.

Down at Rosewood PD, Toby perused Spencer's arrest file. The document that supposedly was responsible for recinding Spencer's bail was one that Wilden had hidden for nearly 2 years. It was a signed statement by Mrs. DiLaurentis that claimed she saw Spencer on the night Alison went missing, with a blond girl dressed in Alison's clothes. Toby is sure that Wilden agreed to keep the statement quiet in exchange for keeping Jessica's affair with Peter Hastings secret. Toby also asked Tanner where Holbrook was, and she claimed that he was on temporary assignment.

Ezra bought the Brew at some point and was working on renovating the space into a bookstore/cafe. While giving Aria a tour, the two talked about how Mike was coping with Mona's death, and Aria suggested that Mike help with the renovations.

Emily and Paige lamented the fact that Paige was moving to California. Emily brought up talking to Paige's parents again, but the girls had already tried that and gotten nowhere. Paige and Emily agreed that Em would take her to the airport.

Hanna asked Caleb if Grunwald could help find Mona. Caleb didn't want to go there.

In downtown Rosewood, Aria read another college rejection letter, and Alison came over to ask her if it was bad news. Aria called Alison A, and Ali was taken aback. She told Aria it was like the girls had gone to sleep one day and forgotten who she was. Alison grabbed Aria's arm, and Aria pulled out her whistle and blew it, causing Ali to retreat.

Ezra tried to get Mike to talk about his feelings, but it didn't work.

Hanna called Grunwald, desperate for answers about her old bestie. The two meet, and Hanna let Grunwald hold the small stuffed dog Leona gave her. Hanna wondered if Alison was responsible for killing Mona, and Grunwald replied that "each one hated the other, because each on feared the other, because each one knew something about the other." Grunwald continued with more bad news, telling Hanna that Mona was not having an easy time passing, and that she was surrounded by earth, insects, and cold.

Spencer and Emily went over to Chez DiLaurentis to talk to Jason about Alison's Thanksgiving alibi. Spencer reminded Jason that he was her brother too, and that she was going to go to jail for something that she didn't do. Jason looked contemplative, but didn't say whether he would help her.

Later, back at Casa de Hastings, Emily told Spencer that she stole Ali's hairbrush while she was looking for muffin tins. She suggested they plant hairs in Mona's house to make sure the police have a reason to arrest Alison for Mona's murder.

Emily Fields PLL 5x14

Alison returned home to find her brother looking at some old family photos. Jason reminded Alison of her 3 baby albums. As he was looking at an old family photo, Ali remembered the events of the day differently than Jason. He claimed that Alison and their dad were always good at that. Alison figured out that Spencer stopped by to talk to him. Jason asked if she could tell him where she went that day, but Alison couldn't. She assured him that she didn't kill Mona, and that her old friends had turned on her, framing her.

Aria visited Caleb to learn some basic hacking skills to find out why she wasn't being accepted to any colleges. She wanted to know whether it was her, or if it was more A sabotage.

Spencer and Emily went over to the Vanderwaal Estate in order to plant the hairbrush, and end up finding a camera installed in a vent. With their plan changed, they have to figure out how to get the police department back to view the footage.

Hanna was chosen to go back to the Mona's home and plant the idea of cameras with Mrs. Vanderwaal, so she would call the cops.

Later, Aria went to the Brew to pick up Mike. With Mona's laptop in her posession, Aria was attacked by a figure in a black hoodie. The person had Mike's phone, stapled Aria to the wall with some plastic wrap, and stole Mona's laptop.

Out on the street, Alison ran into Mrs. Grunwald, and the two had an odd interaction. Grunwald apologized for the loss of her mother. As Alison was about to walk away, Grunwald grabbed her hand, sort of shuddered, and claimed that Ali was in her thoughts and prayers.

Back at Rosewood PD, the videotape had been recovered and was being shown to Jason DiLaurentis. He told Tanner and Toby that the person in the video could've been his sister, based on the blond hair, frame, and doubt that Spencer placed in his head.

Aria met with Emily, telling her about the attack at the Brew, and losing Mona's computer. She doesn't plan to tell Ezra about any of it, but she's sure that Alison was her attacker.

Alison was in a hurry to go somewhere as police lights go off outside her home. She asked Jason if he could try and stall them, and proceeded to run out the back door. Spencer, Emily, Aria, and Hanna were waiting, and don't let her get away. Alison was arrested by Tanner. She warned the girls that she had been set up by A, and with her in jail, they would all be next.

Ali is arrested PLL 5x14

Aria went home and had a heart to heart with Mike about Mona. Mike made it clear just how broken he really is over her death, claiming that "there'll never be anyone like her. Ever."

Emily made it to the airport just as Paige's gate was closing. Luckily, Paige had been running late too, so the girls were able to say goodbye. Paige told Emily that she just couldn't take the stress of A and living in Rosewood anymore. She wanted to be free to live.

Spencer arrived home to the Hastings Estate to see her father and Rosewood PD in her home, Toby included. Turned out, with Alison's arrest, they had arrived to formally drop the charges against Spencer for the murder of Bethany Young. Given Ali's possible involvement in Mona's death, the police think she may be linked to Bethany's death as well.

Hanna, Spencer, Emily, and Aria were outside in Spencer's backyard, talking about how different life would be with A gone, now that Alison was locked up. Fireworks appeared overhead, and the girls looked up excitedly until a red firework draws a giant A in the sky right over their heads. The girls tried to brush it off, but then sparks from the fireworks rain down, causing them to take cover on Spencer's porch.

A is still, still, still, still here PLL 5x14

The episode ended with Alison in a jail cell, decked out in a orange jumpsuit. She tried to get comfortable on the bunk bed, looking worried and defeated.

Ali D in prison PLL 5x14

My Thoughts:

I know I pointed this out on Tumblr, but I have to say it again, this really is the longest the girls have stuck by an A suspect. I think they're so victimized by Alison, they can't see that anyone else could possibly be A other than her.

Vanderslap! (I did not coin this, but oh, how I wish I had!)

Why would Wilden keep that document hidden, effectively protecting Spencer? How did he benefit? There has to be another secret there... Perhaps another lovechild?

The lengths to which the girls are willing to go to make sure Alison is convicted is a little scary. Really telling of what this whole situation has done to them. So not smart. Also, I'm not sure if they can't see it because they're in the situation, but it seems to me that things are sort of falling together quite easily for them. Like that video of Mona being attacked? You'd think that they would've learned to be a little more skeptical and cautious.

Grunwald's eyes are seriously mesmerizing. I'm not sure what the deal with her and Ali was supposed to be during that confrontation. Really awkward. Grunwald was definitely reading her, but I don't know that we'll ever find out what she "saw."

I didn't notice this myself, but it was definitely picked up by other viewers. So, the title of this episode was "Through a Glass, Darkly." The only person we saw reflected in glass was Paige McCullers. A lot of people have begun suspecting her for killing Mona, and I can't say that I couldn't see it. She's certainly leaving for California at an awfully convenient time. I think she definitely has it in her to do something like that, I mean, she tried to drown Emily! But I feel like her anger is more of an uncontrollable outburst when it happens. Mona's murder seemed more pre-meditated to me.

Haven't the Liars learned by now that it's never really over until A says it is?!?

The producers are setting up some really nice possibilities for Alison to have a twin, or some serious memory loss. This was done in the books to not only show that Alison and Courtney had switched places, but to also show that the Alison the girls met after finding out about the twins wasn't the Alison they were friends with. So, maybe this Alison isn't the Ali the girls were friends with, but a twin? But Alison in prison makes me think that she can't be A. Even before those fireworks went off. I mean, I guess it could've been planned ahead of time, but I just don't really see it. It's really likely that A killed Mona, so why would Alison allow herself to be arrested for it if she really were A?

All in all, this was a solid episode. I wasn't expecting an arrest so quickly. I was thinking, maybe halfway through the season or so. It's definitely an interesting way to kickoff the back half of the season, and I'm really curious to see where the story is going next! Next up... Fresh Meat, PLL 5x15.

State of the Sparkle *009*

Happy Friday! I don't know about you, but I'm totally ready for a nice, relaxing weekend. With a little running around sprinkled in for good measure!

Happy New Year! Did I ever really get to say that?!? I don't think I did. This year, the Holidays were extra-crazy because Mr. Sparkle was only home for a month. Soooo we definitely tried to fit about 8-10 months of real time into one month. We went on soooo many dates together... gosh I missed that! You really have no idea how much having a little one changes the family dynamic until you're out for dinner sipping on Sangria and ordering whatever you want. 'Cause, you know, your lil' Peanut isn't there to munch on the food from your plate rather than their own!

New Year's Resolutions........................? Yep! This year, I actually have two. The first is, of course, the obligatory get-in-shape/eat-healthy/lose-weight resolution. For that, I've actually purchased my very own exercise mat...
Gold's Gym Exercise Mat (mine is purple)

Resolution No. 2... Get Organized! I finally ventured into the world of custom planners. I ordered an Erin Condren life planner for Chez Sparkle and a Plum Paper Designs teacher planner for work. I've been drooling over the Erin Condren planners for years, but Plum Paper was actually a recent find. I'm not a teacher, but the options fit my extremely detail-oriented needs. I'm really excited to get them, and will probably end up reviewing them here.

Erin Condren & Plum Paper Designs

I'm still patiently waiting for my Zoya New Year New Hue order... In other news, it's unbelievable how many companies have New Year New Hue collections out right now. O.o

Zoya Rue, Tomoko, and Rebel

I was browsing around Old Navy and the vest I've been stalking magically appeared. That seriously never happens, so I threw it in my basket, added a pair of tights for Peanut, and placed my order!

Old Navy Vest & Tights

Pretty sure I'll be picking up one of these soon for Chez Sparkle...

organization = storage for all the things!

Healthwise... I think the plague has left Chez Sparkle. I think. I don't know what it is, but this year, the germs have been knocking me and Peanut down from all angles, and then we pass it on to each other, and yick! It really was a total germfest for a little while there. O.o

Pretty Little Liars Season 5B!

And last, but most certainly not least... the Pretty Little Liars recaps are coming, I promise! Bedtime has been a little crazy lately, so watching PLL hasn't been the easiest. I'm hoping to get Peanut in bed and asleep in time for this week's 8PM showing. I seriously miss liveblogging at 8, and it's soooooo hard to wait until 10PM sans social media for fear of spoilers.

Other than that, I'm not too sure what Peanut and I will be getting up to this weekend. Definitely some shopping and running around tomorrow. They're calling for warmish weather on Sunday... (funny how 40 is warm nowadays) so, maybe I'll take Peanut out for some fresh air/wiggle time? We'll have to wait and see how that shakes out. Oh, and there was talk of breakfast out on Sunday after church. So... I guess we do have quite a bit on the books already! Happy Weekending!!!
