Fishbowl Friday *024*

Happy, Happy Friday, Happy Friiiiiiiiday to Yooooouuuuu! This week's Fishbowl Friday is brought to you by the rather unassuming color YELLOW. I don't have too many yellows in my stash, so I knew the pickings would be slim. I forgot however, how unappealing those pickings tend to look against my olive skintone. But for the sake of the series, I'm still wearing this mani as I type...

Polishes Used:

1 Coat Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler
4 Coats Zoya Daisy
1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat
1 Coat Seche Vite

I'm honestly a little more than kind of annoyed that this doesn't go with my skintone. It's a seriously gorgeous color. Everything about it is right on... the creamy yellow color, the pretty turquoise shimmer, and the glowing quality the shimmer gives the overall mani. It's just not a color that works for me.

And that's okay!

Formula-wise, Daisy is a little splotchy. I used 4 coats and I've still got some visible patchiness in the photos. It's not as easy to see in real life, but that's after a coat of clear and a coat of Seche. I thought that would help even it out, but maybe what I really needed was another coat of Daisy? Or maybe I'm overthinking it?!?

It's not often that I'm in a hurry to get a color off my nails, but this is definitely one of those times. I love yellow nail polish, but this just doesn't work with my skintone. It's a great shade, and I've seen it look lovely on other people, but sadly, I am not one of them! And again, that's completely okay

SinfulColors Mauve On Seriotype

Whether you call it a seriotype or smooshy... (I prefer seriotype) there is just something about this style of manicure that I can't get enough of.  Polishes Used:  1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Out Ridge Filler 3 Coats SinfulColors Mauve On Essie Leggy Legend Pahlish Autumn People Pure Ice Get in Line 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Hey there! It's been a little while, hasn't it? Sorry about that. Life happens, you know? Oddly enough, I didn't stop painting my nails during my hiatus. I kept taking pictures for a while, and then that just sort of stopped to. Weird how some habits die hard, while others don't change a bit.  Anyhoo... I found pictures of this mani in my files and couldn't believe I didn't share it! This was one of my favorite polishes last spring, and I recreated this exact seriotype/ a few times.  This mani started out with 3 fresh coats of Mauve On. I typically wrap my tips on the 2nd c

Fishbowl Friday 073 // Recreation

Every now and then, I enjoy looking back over past manicures. Creatively, it's just neat to see how far I've come since the days I started. Oddly enough, when I chose this prompt, I knew exactly which manicure I wanted to recreate. Based loosely on Fishbowl Friday 027 , today's seriotype nails are a RECREATION ...  Polishes Used: 1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler 3 Coats China Glaze Violet Vibes Essie Leggy Legend Pahlish Autumn People Pure Ice Get in Line SinfulShine Konstellation 2 Coats SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Looking back, I can honestly say that my seriotype game has come far since I first learned the method. One of the things that took me a while to master was the balance of nail polish finishes. While seriotypes made exclusively with creme polishes look cool, those made with a combination of different finishes really pop. There's more depth involved when you layer a metallic over a jelly neon and

This is quite possibly the most perfect shade of light pink I've come across. And you all know how I love the color pink! <3 In case you missed my review of First Kiss , daniPro polishes were created by Manhattan Podiatrist Dr. Gary Evans. The formula is 5-free and the polishes are recognized by the American Podiatric Medical Association to promote good foot health. Forever Pink is more of a crelly polish, so I had to use 5 coats to build up to the opacity you see in the pictures. Because of the sheer formula, it was a little patchy until about the 4th coat. But once this polish is opaque, it's a really gorgeous shade of pink and the crelly finish really made it shine. I've been into lighter sha
