Outfitting Me *002* Graphic Brights & Stripes

Graphic Brights & Stripes

You know... I've been in the market for bright blue pants for a while, and it took some time, but I finally managed to track down a pair at Old Navy. I'm pretty sure they're these... not the regular Pixie Ankle pants, and it was sheer luck that I even spotted them. They were hiding in the middle of a pile of black pants. And they were my size. That never happens.

Also something that never happens... finding a shirt in the store, on clearance, in your size, that you've pinned and passed over online. I have a thing for ampersands.

My blazer is a little different that the one picture, but also by Cynthia Rowley. I found it at TJ Maxx for $29.99, and because I am the biggest sucker for everything black and white striped... It found its way into my cart. I couldn't find it online, but you probably can still find it in the store!

I planned originally to wear my ankle moto boots, but opted for my ancient black suede wedges instead. It was cooooold here on Monday. In the 30s cold. Move it on out, Old Man Winter!

Last, but most certainly not least, I rounded my outfit out with my trusty tan leather bag on my shoulder, standard arm candy on the wrist, and Yana by Zoya on my nails.

I took a couple of pictures of the exact items I wore, but the lighting was really off. Not exactly blogworthy stuff. But I'm working on it... promise, promise!

SinfulColors Mauve On Seriotype

Whether you call it a seriotype or smooshy... (I prefer seriotype) there is just something about this style of manicure that I can't get enough of.  Polishes Used:  1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Out Ridge Filler 3 Coats SinfulColors Mauve On Essie Leggy Legend Pahlish Autumn People Pure Ice Get in Line 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Hey there! It's been a little while, hasn't it? Sorry about that. Life happens, you know? Oddly enough, I didn't stop painting my nails during my hiatus. I kept taking pictures for a while, and then that just sort of stopped to. Weird how some habits die hard, while others don't change a bit.  Anyhoo... I found pictures of this mani in my files and couldn't believe I didn't share it! This was one of my favorite polishes last spring, and I recreated this exact seriotype/ a few times.  This mani started out with 3 fresh coats of Mauve On. I typically wrap my tips on the 2nd c

Fishbowl Friday 073 // Recreation

Every now and then, I enjoy looking back over past manicures. Creatively, it's just neat to see how far I've come since the days I started. Oddly enough, when I chose this prompt, I knew exactly which manicure I wanted to recreate. Based loosely on Fishbowl Friday 027 , today's seriotype nails are a RECREATION ...  Polishes Used: 1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler 3 Coats China Glaze Violet Vibes Essie Leggy Legend Pahlish Autumn People Pure Ice Get in Line SinfulShine Konstellation 2 Coats SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Looking back, I can honestly say that my seriotype game has come far since I first learned the method. One of the things that took me a while to master was the balance of nail polish finishes. While seriotypes made exclusively with creme polishes look cool, those made with a combination of different finishes really pop. There's more depth involved when you layer a metallic over a jelly neon and

12 MoC: Merry Marsala

Since the announcement of Pantone's Color of the Year 2015, I've been on the hunt for Marsala in polish form. You might think this would be a simple task, but it's actually been quite difficult, and I'm still not 100% there. But this polish is thee best match (and deal) I've found so far. I give you Haze of Love... Polishes Used: 1 Coat Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler 4 Coats Wet N Wild Haze of Love 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite   Marsala is an earthy red with an almost equal blend of red and brown. It's a super versatile shade, and depending on what you pair it with, it can lean towards either color. It's a rich shade, but not overly dark, and a little dusty. In all honesty, Haze of Love is a decent enough match, but it could still stand to be muted down a little bit. It's just the slightest bit too dark, now that I look at the graphics and my nail photos so closely together. But how many people are going to put
