Black & White Manicure

Polishes Used:

1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler
3 Coats SinfulColors Snow Me White
SinfulColors Black on Black
1 Coat Sally Hansen Ruffle
1 Coat Sally Hansen Eyelet
1 Coat SinfulColors Queen of Beauty
1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat
1 Coat Seche Vite

Initially, I had a lot of different ideas for my BLACK & WHITE nails. Stripes, stamping, gradient, sponging... but in the end, I went with a Seriotype.

This manicure began with three easy coats of Snow Me White. That was followed by random swipes of Black on Black, which I dabbed with saran wrap. I topped that with Ruffle, a black matte glitter, followed by Eyelet, a white matte glitter. It needed a little sparkle, but I wanted to keep the pallet neutral, so I just added small silver glitter a la Queen of Beauty. One coat of clear and a coat of Seche Vite finished everything off, and I was good to crash! (And crash I did!)

This is one of those manicures that looked better in my mind than on my nails. I was a combination of tired and a little sick when I painted this, but I can't really blame it on cold medicine or anything. It just didn't turn out the way I had hoped. It's also a good example of nails that looked better in real life than how they turned out in the photos. Which happens! Definitely not that big of a deal. On to the next one... isn't that what they say?!?

SinfulColors Mauve On Seriotype

Whether you call it a seriotype or smooshy... (I prefer seriotype) there is just something about this style of manicure that I can't get enough of.

Hey there! It's been a little while, hasn't it? Sorry about that. Life happens, you know? Oddly enough, I didn't stop painting my nails during my hiatus. I kept taking pictures for a while, and then that just sort of stopped to. Weird how some habits die hard, while others don't change a bit.
Anyhoo... I found pictures of this mani in my files and couldn't believe I didn't share it! This was one of my favorite polishes last spring, and I recreated this exact seriotype/ a few times.
This mani started out with 3 fresh coats of Mauve On. I typically wrap my tips on the 2nd coat and add a 3rd for balance. Next, I ad…

I'm never one to pass up a pink polish and if the name of this doesn't say it all, the color definitely does! This is quite possibly the most perfect shade of light pink I've come across. And you all know how I love the color pink! <3

In case you missed my review of First Kiss, daniPro polishes were created by Manhattan Podiatrist Dr. Gary Evans. The formula is 5-free and the polishes are recognized by the American Podiatric Medical Association to promote good foot health.

Forever Pink is more of a crelly polish, so I had to use 5 coats to build up to the opacity you see in the pictures. Because of the sheer formula, it was a little patchy until about the 4th coat. But once this polish is opaque, it's a really gorgeous shade of pink and the crelly finish really made it shine. I've been into lighter shades on my toes lately…

Fishbowl Friday 073 // Recreation

Every now and then, I enjoy looking back over past manicures. Creatively, it's just neat to see how far I've come since the days I started. Oddly enough, when I chose this prompt, I knew exactly which manicure I wanted to recreate. Based loosely on Fishbowl Friday 027, today's seriotype nails are a RECREATION...

Looking back, I can honestly say that my seriotype game has come far since I first learned the method. One of the things that took me a while to master was the balance of nail polish finishes. While seriotypes made exclusively with creme polishes look cool, those made with a combination of different finishes really pop. There's more depth involved when you layer a metallic over a jelly neon and then add in some shimmer and glitter.
