#31DC2015 026 // Inspired by a Pattern

This is another one of those wide open sort of prompts. If I would've had the time and a little more fortutiude, I might have attempted a freehanded plaid. But. It was not that kind of day. Instead, I went for stamping a PATTERN I hadn't used before...

Polishes Used:

1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler
3 Coats SinfulColors Soul Mate
Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate M98
Sally Hansen Pacific Blue
1 Coat Seche Vite

When I took off my negative space nails, I thought about using the same base for my PATTERN nails. I decided that I was in the mood for something a little bit more pink, so I chose Soul Mate from SinfulColors. It's a great mid-toned coral leaning rose pink, a gorgeous shade on any skin tone!

I resisted the urge to use gold for this stamping and chose Sally Hansen Pacific Blue. It did so well in my Water Marble that I figured it would stamp well, too. No complaints at all, but there was definitely a little bit of user error while rolling the stamper. Some patterns show that more than others, and with this one, it's really noticeable! I could definitely use a little more practice, and probably an upgrade in plates and stampers! I've been eyeing up the Secret Garden collection from Bundlemonster for a while, now!

But for now? I'll just stick to finishing the rest of the challenge...

I'm never one to pass up a pink polish and if the name of this doesn't say it all, the color definitely does! This is quite possibly the most perfect shade of light pink I've come across. And you all know how I love the color pink! <3

In case you missed my review of First Kiss, daniPro polishes were created by Manhattan Podiatrist Dr. Gary Evans. The formula is 5-free and the polishes are recognized by the American Podiatric Medical Association to promote good foot health.

Forever Pink is more of a crelly polish, so I had to use 5 coats to build up to the opacity you see in the pictures. Because of the sheer formula, it was a little patchy until about the 4th coat. But once this polish is opaque, it's a really gorgeous shade of pink and the crelly finish really made it shine. I've been into lighter shades on my toes lately…

SinfulColors Mauve On Seriotype

Whether you call it a seriotype or smooshy... (I prefer seriotype) there is just something about this style of manicure that I can't get enough of.

Hey there! It's been a little while, hasn't it? Sorry about that. Life happens, you know? Oddly enough, I didn't stop painting my nails during my hiatus. I kept taking pictures for a while, and then that just sort of stopped to. Weird how some habits die hard, while others don't change a bit.
Anyhoo... I found pictures of this mani in my files and couldn't believe I didn't share it! This was one of my favorite polishes last spring, and I recreated this exact seriotype/ a few times.
This mani started out with 3 fresh coats of Mauve On. I typically wrap my tips on the 2nd coat and add a 3rd for balance. Next, I ad…

Fishbowl Friday 073 // Recreation

Every now and then, I enjoy looking back over past manicures. Creatively, it's just neat to see how far I've come since the days I started. Oddly enough, when I chose this prompt, I knew exactly which manicure I wanted to recreate. Based loosely on Fishbowl Friday 027, today's seriotype nails are a RECREATION...

Looking back, I can honestly say that my seriotype game has come far since I first learned the method. One of the things that took me a while to master was the balance of nail polish finishes. While seriotypes made exclusively with creme polishes look cool, those made with a combination of different finishes really pop. There's more depth involved when you layer a metallic over a jelly neon and then add in some shimmer and glitter.
