FIshbowl Friday 069 // Earth

You know, every now and I then I do pick prompts that work perfectly with a new polish I've just purchased. This time, though... I did pick two prompts to choose between. One of those happened to be EARTH, so I went with that, consider that today is Earth Day.

Earth Day Manicure

Polishes Used:

1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler
2 Coats SinfulColors Navy I Do
Essie Leggy Legend
Pahlish Gumdrop Rooftop
SinfulColors Garden Party
SinfulColors Navy I Do
SinfulColors Snow Me White
SinfulShine Kovet
1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat
1 Coat Seche Vite

I've been wanting to do a seriotype for a while now, and this prompt was the perfect chance. I wanted my nails to look like the view of EARTH from space, and I've gotta say... I think I got pretty close!

I started out with Navy I Do from SinfulColors. It was practically a one-coater, but I used two coats so I could wrap my tips. I figured that if I wanted the green to show up, I should probably put some white down to really make it pop. Using saran wrap, I dabbed on random blotches of Kovet followed by Snow Me White.

From there, I dabbed Garden Party on randomly, followed by a few splotches of Leggy Legend. I painted on one coat of Gumdrop Rooftop and follow that with a little more Navy I Do to balance out some overly green areas. Then, I added a little more Leggy Legend on a few nails. After that, it was the typical coat of SinfulColors clear and a coat of Seche Vite!

I'm really happy with how this manicure turned out! Like I said, I've been itching to do a seriotype for a little while now, and this really was the perfect opportunity. Definitely gonna keep these on for at least another day!

SinfulColors Mauve On Seriotype

Whether you call it a seriotype or smooshy... (I prefer seriotype) there is just something about this style of manicure that I can't get enough of.  Polishes Used:  1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Out Ridge Filler 3 Coats SinfulColors Mauve On Essie Leggy Legend Pahlish Autumn People Pure Ice Get in Line 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Hey there! It's been a little while, hasn't it? Sorry about that. Life happens, you know? Oddly enough, I didn't stop painting my nails during my hiatus. I kept taking pictures for a while, and then that just sort of stopped to. Weird how some habits die hard, while others don't change a bit.  Anyhoo... I found pictures of this mani in my files and couldn't believe I didn't share it! This was one of my favorite polishes last spring, and I recreated this exact seriotype/ a few times.  This mani started out with 3 fresh coats of Mauve On. I typically wrap my tips on the 2nd c

12 MoC: Merry Marsala

Since the announcement of Pantone's Color of the Year 2015, I've been on the hunt for Marsala in polish form. You might think this would be a simple task, but it's actually been quite difficult, and I'm still not 100% there. But this polish is thee best match (and deal) I've found so far. I give you Haze of Love... Polishes Used: 1 Coat Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler 4 Coats Wet N Wild Haze of Love 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite   Marsala is an earthy red with an almost equal blend of red and brown. It's a super versatile shade, and depending on what you pair it with, it can lean towards either color. It's a rich shade, but not overly dark, and a little dusty. In all honesty, Haze of Love is a decent enough match, but it could still stand to be muted down a little bit. It's just the slightest bit too dark, now that I look at the graphics and my nail photos so closely together. But how many people are going to put

Fishbowl Friday 073 // Recreation

Every now and then, I enjoy looking back over past manicures. Creatively, it's just neat to see how far I've come since the days I started. Oddly enough, when I chose this prompt, I knew exactly which manicure I wanted to recreate. Based loosely on Fishbowl Friday 027 , today's seriotype nails are a RECREATION ...  Polishes Used: 1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler 3 Coats China Glaze Violet Vibes Essie Leggy Legend Pahlish Autumn People Pure Ice Get in Line SinfulShine Konstellation 2 Coats SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Looking back, I can honestly say that my seriotype game has come far since I first learned the method. One of the things that took me a while to master was the balance of nail polish finishes. While seriotypes made exclusively with creme polishes look cool, those made with a combination of different finishes really pop. There's more depth involved when you layer a metallic over a jelly neon and
